A Reverse Driving Control Method for Hydrostatic Double-drum Vibratory Rollers
نویسندگان
چکیده
A reverse driving control method for hydrostatic double-drum vibratory rollers is devised in this paper. Based on the analysis of dynamic characteristics of stopping process, the relationship equation between engine speed and pump displacement is established. To restrict the peak value of engine overspeed within the allowable region, an offline parameter determination approach complied with the requirements of average stopping deceleration is developed. The online control method using the selected parameter is presented. Approaches are derived to determine the two key parameters of the control methods, i.e., the critical deceleration value and the coefficient of relationship equation of the engine friction torque and the engine speed. The control method can also be applied to one type of hydrostatic machinery with their engine throttle position unchangeable in stopping process in addition to the doubledrum vibratory roller.

Numerical simulation of dynamic soil compaction with vibratory compaction equipment
Roller drums make use of various shapes and their dynamic compaction effect is achieved by different kinds of dynamic excitation systems. The bearing capacity of layered soil constructions can be measured during the soil compaction process. The finite element method has been applied for dynamic analyses using elastic models. For the realistic simulation of the dynamic compaction process it is n...
متن کاملDynamic Rollers in Earthworks: Compaction and Continuous Compaction Control
The quality of earth structures highly depends on the compaction state of fill layers, which can be made up of a wide range of various materials. Compaction is usually accomplished by vibratory rollers; the vibration of the drum is generated by rotating eccentric masses. Moreover, dynamic rollers with different types of excitation have been developed in the last decades, including rollers with ...

متن کاملMovement of vibrating and oscillating drums and its influence on soil compaction
Dynamic roller compaction has become the common method for near-surface compaction, because dynamic rollers are much more efficient compared to static rollers. Two types of excitation are mainly used for dynamic roller compaction, the vibratory and the oscillatory roller. In the presented study the differences in functioning, mode of operation and loading the soil are outlined for the two types...
متن کاملIntelligent Compaction Control of Highway Embankment Soil
Mechanistic pavement design procedures based on elastic layer theory require characterization of all pavement layer materials including subgrade soil. This paper discusses the subgrade stiffness obtained from a new compaction device called the Intelligent Compaction (IC) roller on highway embankment projects in Kansas. Three test sections on two routes were compacted using a single, smooth stee...
